Today I've stumbled over this fantastic program to recognize songs. It's called Tunatic and you can use it to identify unknown songs. For years I've used the "type a part of the lyrics in a search engine" way, this could be a handy addition to that. In my short test it recognized songs from different genres like blues, heavy metal, alternative and even punk. Unfortunately, Tunalyzer , the program for fingerprinting songs and enhancing the database, is currenlty only available for Mac OS X. Of course Tunatic is freeware, wouldn't be so exited if it weren't...

Today I've signed up with last fm . Last fm is a music recommendation system that builds a detailed profile of your listening habits, showing your favorite artists and songs with loads of other possibilities. For now I'll include my recently listened tracks in this post, in the future I'll put it somewhere on the front page.
